Andrew Driver is not the same player he was last year   -Csaba Laszlo

 

Csaba Laszlo today revealed that Andrew Driver is out of Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash against St Johnstone. The wing-king has a patella (knee) injury which could keep him out of action for the next two or three weeks. The England U21 international is one of a number of players who will miss out on the visit of the Saints.  

The plan by manager Csaba Laszlo is for Elliot and Templeton, who have overcome heel and foot injuries respectively, to resume first-team training and be in contention to play by the time St Johnstone visit Tynecastle on Saturday 21 November. so is unlikely to be fully fit by then following hernia surgery but the Hearts medical staff will continue to work on his rehabilitation and on Kingston's persistent hamstring complaint.  

Hearts will be without suspended midfielder Eggert Jonsson for Saturday's Edinburgh derby.  

It's a double derby weekend in the Scottish Premier League with Edinburgh and Lanarkshire rivals going head-to-head for the first time this season. Saturday's early kick-off sees second placed Hibernian travel across the city to take on Hearts. On paper, the three points should be heading home on the team bus with John Hughes and his team, who sit 11 points ahead of Csaba Laszlo's squad with just 10 games played.  

John Girvan's column is back in profit and he's keen to kick on so here are his selections for this weekend's Clydesdale Bank Premier action. "Kris Boyd didn't feature in Bucharest on Wednesday so you would expect him to start and do what he does best, especially against the weaker sides in the SPL. Back Rangers -1.5 goals in the Asian Handicap at 1.88." Last week's picks were enough to sneak back into profit.
